Obituary for Reynaldo R. Caudillo

On Monday, February 25, 2019, Reynaldo (Rey) R. Caudillo peacefully left this world. He was 69 years old.
Rey was born on May 6, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to Reynaldo “Ray” and Amalia (Zavala) Caudillo. Mr. Caudillo holds a MBA in Marketing and a BA in Business with degrees from the University of Illinois and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Reynaldo Caudillo was the Founder and President of Los Caudillos International Inc., a New Jersey-based Hispanic business and market consultancy dedicated to helping businesses reach and capture their share of the rapidly growing and underserved U.S. Hispanic market. He was also Vice President-Multicultural Markets, for the INSIGHT Research Corporation, and recognized as a leading expert and international speaker.

During his corporate career, Rey held various key managerial positions at AT&T in International Consumer Services, Global and U.S. Hispanic Marketing, WorldNet Internet Services, Global Business Data Services, Advertising/Marketing Communications, New Business Development and Computer Systems. He helped launch AT&T Alestra in Mexico and was the Country Manager.

Rey lived his passion to support Hispanics and other ethnic minorities. He served as the VP-Public Relations for AT&T HISPA and as the Vice-Chair for the Visiting Health Services of Morris County. He worked with Kean University in “Project Adelante,” a program designed to help transition recently arrived Latino immigrant children into the U.S. Rey served on the Boards of Operadora Hotelera Solymar and Condominios Solymar in Mexico, and on the Boards of the Latino Leadership Alliance of Morris County and Preschool Advantage (Project Acorn). He was a Trustee for the Morris County Organization of Hispanic Affairs, Morris Tomorrow and the Cornerstone Family Services/Neighborhood House. He graduated from the Leadership Morris Program. He also sat on the Advisory Counsel for United Way of Morris County.
Mr. Caudillo served as President for the Morris County Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce (MCHACC), representing the interest of over 300 Hispanic and non-Hispanic businesses. Under his leadership, MCHACC was recognized as the Best Medium Size Region V Hispanic Chamber in 2005, 2006 and in 2007 and named the Best National Medium Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2007/2008.
He received many awards for his contributions to the community.
Rey enjoyed sports, particularly tennis, golf and skiing, and was an avid football and basketball fan, routing for the Chicago Bears and Bulls. He enjoyed a good steak, fine wine and international travel.
Rey was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo “Ray” and Amalia Caudillo, his sister Maria Glas, brother, Charles Caudillo, and his uncle, Ricardo Caudillo. He is survived by his wife Judy Till, his sisters, Irma Parker and Rosa Juarez. He was the dear uncle of several nieces and nephews:
Bryon Parker, David Parker, Michael Parker, Denise Parker, Victoria Glas Stromberg, Rich Glas, Amanda Glas Maguire, Javier Juarez and Alicia Juarez. He will also be missed by his Irish Setter, Maggie Mae, and his cat, Audi

Viewing will be at Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey on March 4, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. The funeral mass will be on March 5, 2019 at 10 am at Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 91 Maple Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey

He created the Reynaldo R Caudillo scholarship at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC) to assist first generation Latinos with academic merit in their pursuit of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) studies. He took great pleasure in meeting scholarship recipients and supporting their career goals.
