Obituary for Daniel J. Wendel

Daniel J. Wendel, age 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. He was born February 18, 1963, in Teaneck, to Raymond and Lucille Wendel.
He was a 1981 graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School, in Allendale. He completed his plumbing apprenticeship in 1984 and was a proud member of UA Local 24 Plumbers in West Caldwell. During the winter, Danny loved skiing at Roundtop Mountain in Vermont and during the summer, loved boating and fishing in the Florida Keys. He was a good friend to many but it’s his banter with friends, Randy Shupe and Greg Campbell, that will always be remembered fondly. He would help anyone that asked him. Danny’s greatest achievement was being a loving father and devoting his time to raising his son, Jami.
Danny was predeceased by his father Raymond Wendel. Additional survivors include son, Jamison Ray Wendel, from his marriage to Cheryl Shek Wendel; mother, Lucille; sister, Christine and her husband, Ross; brother, James and his wife, Lisa; sister, Amy Knauss; sister, Elisabeth and her husband Darren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
To celebrate his life, family, friends, and others are invited to Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Ave, Morristown, from 2-6pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019, to reminisce, support one another and chat.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or to American Diabetes Association.
